Snow and Mountains

Adelboden is the closest big ski area so naturally it's the place we are usually found.
Engsligenalp is a small region near Adelboden with great free riding and hiking.
Elisigen-Metsch is another area we are often visiting.  It's a small area with good slopes, but the best thing is that you can park you r car 50 meters from the lift!
Wiriehorn is only a 15 to 20 minute drive from us and we often head there for half days. It's a small area but does boast a great "steep & deep" black run.
The skiing and hiking in the Grindelwald region is world famous.  The best point is the stunning scenery which makes it one of the top scenic areas in Switzerland.  The only drawback is that there are always too many tourists here.
I think the Schilthorn area is best visited in Summer, but you can also ski there in the winter.  Not far from Grindelwald, Schilthorn offers impressive views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.
The Meiringen-Hasliberg region is my favorite ski region in the BernerOberland.  A 45 minute drive from Thun, but well worth it on powder days.  Lots of easy to access, steep and deep free riding is found here.  Don't forget your avalanche beacon!
Gstaad is another world famous BernerOberland ski area.  If you keep your eyes open might see some rich and famous people on the slopes.  A big region but on average not very difficult.
Saas-Fee is a high elevation ski area in the Valais region.  It's an good region for early and late season skiing, ski/snowboard tours, hiking and mountain climbing.
Zermatt is probably the most famous Swiss ski resort.  The skiing is OK, the hiking/climbing is excellent and the views of the Matterhorn are stunning.
Chamonix is my favorite place to be in the Alps.  Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall, Chamonix offers the best the Alps has to offer for free riding, hiking, mountain biking and climbing.
